SD1 committees
Six working committees, open to any precinct chair, county chair, or volunteer in the district. You do not have to have been at a training to join one.
What these are, and what they are not
These are voluntary coordination across the district. A county executive committee and the SREC have authority under the Election Code and the RPT Rules. An SD1 committee does not. It exists so that people working on the same problem in nineteen counties can find each other.
The six
Land, Water and Energy
Groundwater and water supply, data centers and large electric loads, wind, solar and transmission lines, eminent domain and foreign land ownership.
One fight with one cast: groundwater districts, the PUC, county commissioners, appraisal districts, and abatement agreements.
Local Government Accountability
Records requests, county and city budgets and tax rates, hospital districts, school boards, and surveillance contracts including ALPR and Flock cameras.
One method, the public information request, applied to every local body. Good if you are organised, patient, and like paperwork that produces evidence.
Legislation and Testimony
Bill tracking during session, the posting duty roster, written testimony, registering a position, and the trips to Austin.
Good if you can check postings twice a day for 140 days. Two hours notice in the House is real.
Elections
Election integrity, poll watchers, judges and clerks, and the primary.
Seasonal work that needs people who are trained, not only interested.
Events and Media
Collects event information, feeds the district calendar, plans and cross promotes events, and carries the relationships with county clubs and the Republican women's groups.
Good if you know everybody and answer your phone.
Precinct Chair Support
Recruiting chairs, filling vacant precincts, and helping new chairs through their first year.
It maps to no box on the form. It is how the district grows.

What happens next
Somebody answers you that week, even before anyone is designated to anything. A volunteer who signs up and hears nothing for three weeks is gone, and that is the one moment they were willing. If you do not hear back, write again and tell us we dropped it.
